Process Development

Our Client wanted to tender for business with the major Automotive OEM's.  Since he had no recognised industry accreditation, this was impossible, as their prospective customers would only source from suppliers holding ISO / QS or TS accreditation.

An initial appraisal was made of all the current business operational processes and documentation, prompting the following actions...

Creation of a"Business Operations map" detailing functional inputs and outputs

  • "Business Process map" was drawn, highlighting areas that had no processes or controls - both of which are fundamental to gaining industry accreditation
  • Existing processes were Value Stream Mapped
  • New "Lean" processes were introduced
  • Document control register set up
  • Accreditation requirements trained out to staff at all levels

Following accreditation, our Client  was then able to move his business forward, tendering for lucrative new contracts that had previously eluded him. He had also learned to appreciate the significant role "Control" plays in his ability to deliver true service excellence.

"A common error is for companies to treat accreditation as just a 'tick in the box' and not fully understand it's importance and benefits.  All businesses, regardless of size, should have standard processes to control their  operations. Gaining accreditation is the first step to a business that is in control."
